Each assignor has a private draft workspace per match where they can experiment with different referee assignments without affecting the live schedule. Once satisfied, drafts are sent to WIP (Work in Progress) status, where they enter the approval workflow. This allows you to plan assignments carefully before making them official.

OneReferee supports a multi-level approval workflow: Assignor → Nominator → Publisher. When an assignor creates a draft and sends it to WIP, each referee slot can be either directly approved (if the assignor assigns a specific referee) or "delegated" to a nominator. Nominators can then nominate referees from their supervised groups, which must be approved by a publisher before publication. This enables efficient county-level or regional delegation while maintaining central oversight.

OneReferee is designed for complex organizational structures like national federations with county associations. Our group management system allows you to grant temporary permissions for specific competitions without affecting other competitions. Combined with the delegation system, county nominators can manage their local referee pools while the national federation maintains oversight through the approval and publishing workflow.

Our Smart Match Rescheduling feature automatically checks referee availability for the new date. Referees who are still available are retained in their assignments, while those with conflicts (due to unavailability periods or other matches) are automatically removed. This saves hours of manual checking and ensures you only need to replace unavailable referees rather than reassigning the entire brigade.

Yes! The affinity system (coming soon) will allow you to define forbidden pairings between referees and teams, referees and observers, or referees and specific leagues. This ensures compliance with conflict-of-interest rules and organizational policies by preventing certain assignments before they're made.
